TOP TEN LISTS
90/100pts(a Good/Great wine) Spann Vineyards “MoZin” (red blend), 2006 $20. Tasted 4 bottles for consistency. 42% Zinfandel, 30% Mourvedre, 20% Petite Sirah, 8% Syrah
90pts
verall- A lively, vibrant, red fruit centered red.   Fresh, jellied flavors well balanced and masterfully blended.  Flavors of baked red cherry pie, raspberry cobbler, raspberry jelly torte, maraschino cherries, raspberry briars, caramel red apples, roses and red flowers turning to violets, red licorice, soy and cloves with more air.

Blending multiple varieties is the specialty of this house and there may be no one as seamless in blending in California as Betsy and Peter Spann.  The Spann’s, having spent much of their lives in New Orleans and Bordeaux focus on producing blends that are food friendly and balanced.  MoZin is a great every day dinner wine and a very fair price for a characterful wine.  Perfect for pairing with New Orleans, Indian and Chinese food.  Drink straight and at cellar temperature.  Drink now or within the next 3 years.
