94/100pts -  100% Samsel Vineyards, head pruned and dry farmed,   West Hills District-Sonoma Valley, 95% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah.  36%French, 57% American, 7% Russian Oak.  Fermented in half ton bins and pushed down by hand twice a day.  Cutting edge yeast and barrel program.  1223 cases made $60

      verall-   black and brambly with loads oh tobacco farm and spice, sweet and polished tannins and mint, balanced, easy and endless.  Amazing oak and tannins management.  Winemaking mastered and even exceeded the  vineyard source.  Drink now, no ageing need. Drink straight without decanting, served at 65°F.   

Why 94pts?  Flashy polish, elegance and style.  Beautiful dark extracted fruit,
dark minerality and dry spice.  Winemaking supports the structure of wine. Rich yet balanced meaning it’s easy to keep drinking without becoming cloying or clumsy.
