Spirited, mountainside character, broad shouldered auburn fruit and a gregariously giving texture concede clearly the terroir flavors of this high altitude Zinfandel Vineyard. Bright acid lends vibrancy, purity and a gentle innocence of expression to this otherwise bold and bigger than life wine. It  is a true-to-form, Monte Rosso with flavors of hibiscus flower, papaya, dried juniper berry, dried red cherries, red plum preserves, “Allgold” raspberries, black cherry cola, soy sauce, geranium, allspice, bay leaves, lavender, black olives, gravel, dried thyme, cumin and dried rosemary.

Serving:  Drink from 2013 to 2022 to enjoy a full spectrum of mineral and spice flavors. Serve in oversized Meritage glasses and decant or let breathe for up to 30 minutes when young.  Serve with or without food and serve slightly above a cool cellar temp.

Food recommendations: Veal Scallopini, Rosemary Porterhouse Pork Chop, Osso Buco, Anti-pasto pasta Salad, BBQ Pork ribs, Tagliatelle al ragù alla bolognese, and  Rosemary Italian Sausage.

Classic comparison:  A Classic Monte Rosso Zinfandel.
