Deerfield Chardonnay “Los Chamizal” Vineyard, Sonoma Valley 2009 $35
Bold and brazen; a seamless powerhouse of clean, creamy Chardonnay and vibrant, direct
fruit; it is a white wine for everyone. Minimal oak, integrated and comfortable
acids, a plush mouthfeel and lengthy finish; a wine with the texture and connectivity
of a Premier Cru Meursault and the green apple and raw honey flavors of the Sonoma-
Serving: Serve in large Burgundy glasses without decanting; drink now and serve with or without food.
Food recommendations: Oysters Rockefeller, Cilantro Cucumber Salad, Prosciutto Wrapped Honeydew Melon, Chicken Pesto Penne, Chicken Saag, Parmesan Artichoke Salad, Almond Crusted Monkfish on a Bed of Sautéed Spinach and Dalmades/Dolma.
Consumer Type: Universal, all wine drinkers especially red wine drinkers will enjoy this wine. Some Chardonnay drinkers looking for very oaky, buttery Chardonnays may not accept this wine as a substitute for the style of Chardonnay they are used to but may enjoy it for completely different reasons.
